Hair Clip

Today I'm going to show you how to transform the 3-step crocheted flower from the previous post into a hair clip.

Because I already have the flower, in this post we will make the leaf. The written-pattern for the flower you can find it here. Let's make the leaf. You'll make 2.

Materials:

  • Yarn: Merango Basic uni (green) - 100% polyacryl (50 gr ~ 133m)

  • Crochet hook: 3 mm

  • Scissors, tapestry needle, glue gun, felt sheets (orange and green), pencil, 2 coins different sizes, a hair clip base

Stitches and abbreviations (U.S. terms):

  • st(s) - stitch(es)

  • ch - chain stitch

  • sp st - slip stitch

  • sc - single crochet

  • hdc - half double crochet

  • dc - double crochet

START:

Start with magic ring.

Row 1: Ch3 (counted as dc), 15dc into the magic ring, sp st into the 3rd ch; (16dc - final)

Row 2: Ch1, sc in the same st and in the next 2st(s); 2hdc in the next st; 2dc in the next st; 1tc in the next st, ch3 and sp st in the top of the tc, 1tc in the same st; 2dc in the next st; 2hdc in the next st; 2sc in the next 2st(s); sp st in the next st; fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Now go see 3-step crocheted flower and make it.

Put aside the leaves and the flower, and cut out from those 2 sheets of felt, 1 piece orange and 2 pieces green (mine are ~4.5 and ~2.5 cm diameter).

Glue the green ones to the back of the leaves, glue the leaves to the back of the flower. The orange piece glue it inside the hair clip base and on to the back of the flower.

That's it! You have a wonderfull crochet hair clip!

I hope you enjoyed today's project.

I'm waiting for you in the next post to show you my version of African flower.

Sharing is caring!

Thank you!
